Turbines

The blades of one of Australia's earliest wind farms, shot on large format film with extended exposures: the rotation dissolves into a disc. Wind cannot be photographed. It can be measured by the same process that measures light, which is what these exposures do. The moving image does the reverse — the blade enters the frame, crosses, and leaves, at the speed the wind decides. The island's solar arrays convert the other invisible input. Both farms stand on the same island that the mine was cut into.
